This past fall, Chanel released the Fall-Winter 2017 Travel Diary makeup collection, which was inspired by the idea of a road trip through the beautifully varied landscape of California. It's full of rich, jewel-tones as well as beautiful neutrals and a wide variety of product textures. Keep reading for swatches and reviews of everything plus FOTDs!

In my FOTD above, I'm wearing the Les 4 Ombres quad in 288 Road Movie ($61 for 0.07 oz.), Palette Essentiel in Beige Medium ($60 for 0.31 oz.) for blush, highlight and concealer, and Rouge Allure Velvet in First Light ($37 for 0.12 oz.) on lips.

In my FOTD above, I'm wearing  Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadows ($36 for 0.14 oz.) in 818 Urban, a deep sapphire blue shimmer in the outer corners and 820 Memory a medium bronzey gold all over the lid, Palette Essentiel in Beige Medium ($60 for 0.31 oz.) for blush, highlight and concealer, and Rouge Allure Ink ($37 for 0.20 oz.) in 156 Lost on lips.

The Palette Essentielle Conceal and Highlight Palettes ($60 for 0.31 oz.) are an all new product that debuted in the fall-winter collection, and I think they are my favourite items of the whole collection. Each palette includes a large pan of concealer, ranging from light to medium to dark, and a complimentary cream blush and cream highlighter.

The Beige Claire palette matches my skintone the best, and each product blends beautifully with whatever base I wear. The highlighters give a pearlescent, medium glow which is both visible yet natural. The blushes are very pigmented and blend beautifully with a duo fiber brush.

You only need a few dabs per cheek to give a gorgeous flush to your face. And the concealer blends very well with foundation (at least the one from the Beige Claire palette does).

The star eye product of the collection is Les 4 Ombres 288 Road Movie ($61 for 0.07 oz.), which combines stunning neutrals with gorgeous, prussian blue hues. The quality is outstanding for all shades - the deep blue which is a tiny bit dry to the touch but still applies and builds beautifully. The warm, neutral, champagne rose gold, the light taupe matte and the shimmering Prussian petrol blue are all incredibly finely milled with gorgeous, saturated pigmentation and great blendability.

The collection also includes two Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadows ($36 for 0.14 oz.) in 818 Urban, a deep sapphire blue shimmer and 820 Memory a medium bronzey gold. Both have beautiful, smooth application and pigmentation - of the two Memory is my fave.

Next up are lips...

The collection includes:
  • Rouge Allure Velvets ($37 for 0.12 oz.) in 63 Nightfall, a deep raspberry red and 64 First Light, a bright, almost neon warm poppy orange-red.
  • Rouge Coco ($37 for 0.12 oz.) in 472 Experimental a bright, warm, reddish pink and 474 Daylight a beige nude.
  • Rouge Allure Ink ($37 for 0.20 oz.) in 156 Lost, a warm peachy nude and 158 Highway a creamy peachy coral orange.
First Light and Lost are my favorites, and I have to say I realllly really love Lost. Something special about that shade - it's super beautiful!

Both apply flawlessly and are opaque in two coats.

The Travel Diary collection is definitely one of my favorites that Chanel has released in recent memory. Every product in the collection is truly excellent, and the color combos and selection are modern and beautiful. I hope you enjoyed this review even though it's (a lotta bit) late! What are your thoughts on the collection? Let me know in the comments!
