Nectarine & Mango Sangria Mocktail

In celebration of the de facto arrival of summer here in New England, I give you a delightfully refreshing and sweet concoction that I created for my friend the other evening, which I based on this recipe from The Kitchn.

Chanel Summer 2016 Makeup Collection Swatches & Review

Chanel's Summer 2016 makeup collection has hit counters - it evokes the sandy desert with accents of glimmering green emerald and flashing poppy reds. I've got the whole thing swatched and reviewed below in case you were thinking of picking anything up!

NEW! Dior Mono Professional Eyeshadow Spectacular Effects

At some point this spring, Christian Dior has been set to launch an all new eyeshadow formula which will replace its old powder mono eyeshadows. As I've discussed before, a big sore point for Dior in the past has been its pretty average and even poor quality powder formulas, which have especially plagued its eyeshadow range from the monos to the quints. However, ever since Dior brought on Peter Philip as its Creative Director of Makeup, the streak of disappointing powders in seasonal and permanent releases has ended in a major way. Given this situation, I've been really looking forward to seeing these new shadows - and they do not disappoint! I've gotten the entire range swatched below - I'll update this post with more detailed information soon. But for now, I'll just say that the texture and pigmentation is phenomenal - the only two that are a bit dry and powdery with sub par pigmentation are 296 Show and 081 Runway. My favourites are the sparkly ones, which all have great pigmentation. The sparkly shadows are the only high-end sparkle formula that can compete with Tom Ford's sparkle formula. My picks are Pulse, Cosmopolite, Techno, Gallery. Right now some of these are available at Nordstrom in the U.S.

Travel Beauty: What's In My Bag & Tips On Packing Yours

Packing a beauty bag for trips can be agonizingly difficult when you're not a just-the-basics sort of person when it comes to all things beauty related. When the trip in question is more than a few days, the difficulty level only continues to increase. The main challenge is to make sure that you bring everything you need along with an extra few options to suit your mood or your outfits - the extra options are especially key on longer trips, when too few options in the interest of economizing space have left me more wishing for another colour of blush or eyeshadow etc on more than one occasion. Of course, you also really want to avoid packing so many extra "options" that you end up not using most of what you've brought outside of your basic core. With all this said, here's what I've brought on the two-week, long-haul trip I'm currently on, along with the curation process I go through when deciding what to bring!

Lancome Juicy Shakers | Swatches & Review

I've been waiting for these to launch stateside for quite some time since I featured them in my inaugural edition of the Beauty Bulletin. When I spotted them on a recent Sephora run, I was pretty much beside myself with excitement.

The Perfect Beach Dress

I came across this hand dyed silk dress from Lotta Stensson NYC a few weeks ago and totally couldn't believe how beautiful and perfect it was. From the softly rustling silk to the delicately ruffled edges to the flowing cut to the achingly perfect watery hues of blue imbued with the ephemeral translucence of aquarelles...it's like it was made just for me with every attention given to the creation of a garment which is the embodied realization of my tastes. This being the case, I knew it would be selfish not to share...
