YSL Rouge Volupte Shine | Swatches & Review

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Rouge in Danger Fuchsia Pink in Devotion Nude in Private Corail Incandescent Pink in Paris Corail in Touch
First of all, I hope errbody's having a fantastic Friday night. Second of all, I want to share some swatches of one of my favourite lipstick formulas, YSL's Rouge Volupte Shine ($37 for 0.15 oz.). To me, these are pretty close to perfect...Semi-sheer, beautifully pigmented, buildable to an almost opaque shade, glossy and lightly moisturizing with a formula that conceals any imperfections in my lips and makes them look full and juicy. Also, that packaging. ALSO, there's a pretty good amount of product for the price, so I think these are kind of great value relatively speaking. They wear really well, I can swipe it on in the morning, and if I'm careful while eating, it's still going strong 7 hours later. Loses some of the glossiness, but the pigment stays. And even I say to hell with it and wipe it off while eating, I get a really pretty stain left behind. More reasons why I love this formula.

I own four of these babies, 08 Pink in Confidence, 12 Corail Incandescent, 16 Orange Impertinent and 17 Rose in Tension. Currently interested in acquiring 21 Red in Sunlight and maybe a couple others. Enjoy the swatches! Bear in mind I'm missing 8 shades here. If there are any other shades besides the ones below that you'd like to see lip swatches of, let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Happy weekend y'all! xx

Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo | Swatches & Review

Rouge Coco Stylo Swatches & Review Conte Lettre Article Roman Script Histoire
Chanel recently launched a new lip product called 'Rouge Coco Stylo' ($37 for 0.07 oz.) for Spring. I've swatched all the shades here and have tested it for wear time. Honestly, I am pretty underwhelmed. First of all, almost $40 for almost half the amount of product in a normal lipstick (which is usually 0.12 oz. for most brands)?! It's a complete rip-off for the amount of product, in my opinion. I really can't imagine my conclusion being different even if the lipstick were amazing and completely unique with the most wonderful colour range imaginable, but that doesn't matter, because Rouge Coco Stylo is none of those things.

The Ahau, Tulum

ahau tulum hotel review beach front junior suite
Tulum is a paradisaical, bohemian slice of the Mexican Riviera just south of Cancun that is frequented by some of the best known travel, lifestyle and fashion bloggers around, as well as by people from all walks of life seeking solace in the the jungle and the sea. While full-service luxury is one way to do Mexico, I personally prefer an unplugged, rustic, eco-luxury atmosphere with seamless transitions between the outdoors and indoors, the scent of salty sea air wafting through my room and dreamy, breezy, white curtains kissing the air in the breeze. And of course, unbeatable cuisine. For this atmosphere, my abode of choice is The Ahau, Tulum...

Raymond Weil Geneve Jasmine 35mm Two-Tone Watch

I believe that the timepiece an individual wears is a microcosmic expression of many of the facets of that individual's essential personality and character. As such, a timepiece is one element of our daily garb which I believe warrants special attention to detail and thoughtful consideration during the selection process to ensure that the one we choose is meaningfully representative of ourselves.

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder Highlighters Swatches Review Incandescent Iridescent Brilliant Euphoric
Hourglass released a line of highlighting powders this spring called Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders. We were given a little hint of this release in the brand's Ambient Lighting Edit palette for Holiday 2015, which contained a shade of the Strobe Lighting Powders called Iridescent. There have been lots of highlighters released in general lately, and in particular this spring - many of them have been incredibly beautiful, and Hourglass' are no exception!
